About the event
Pet Harmony Training Event: Practical strategies for building your dog's "off-switch"
Many dogs struggle to “turn off,” especially if they have lots of energy or big feelings. In this workshop, we’ll talk about why some dogs have a hard time settling—and why it’s often not just about training. Just like you can’t give a toddler a bunch of sugar and expect them to nap right after, dogs need their physical, mental, and emotional needs met before their bodies are able to relax.
During this one-hour session, you’ll learn practical enrichment strategies that help meet your dog’s needs so they’re better able to decompress and settle. We’ll also discuss how relaxation is a skill that can be taught and demonstrate a few techniques using shelter dogs. You’ll leave with ideas you can try at home right away, along with a better understanding of how to help your dog build the skills…
