Junior Board

The Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) Junior Board empowers passionate high school students to make a meaningful difference in the lives of homeless animals. Through planning and leading creative fundraising events, community service projects, and awareness campaigns, Junior Board members help generate critical financial support while educating the community about animal welfare. By engaging their peers and building new community connections, members play an important role in promoting adoptions, inspiring volunteerism, and creating brighter futures for the dogs and cats in NAHS's care.

Junior Board Member Expectations

As a member of the Naperville Area Humane Society Junior Board, you will play an active role in supporting our mission and making a difference for homeless animals. Members are expected to:

  • Attend monthly Junior Board meetings, held on the first Tuesday of each month from 5:00–6:00 p.m.

  • Be at least 15 years old or currently enrolled in high school.

  • Volunteer at a minimum of two NAHS or third-party events each year.

  • Raise at least $200 annually while helping increase awareness of NAHS through community outreach and fundraising efforts.

  • Review the Junior Board Guidelines and complete the Junior Board Application before joining.

  • Serve as an ambassador for NAHS by discussing Junior Board projects with the community and participating in an annual presentation to the NAHS Board of Directors.
